Sheds, garages and boats
A lot of Shire homes have a garage workshop or a backyard shed that's been running off an extension lead for years. We run a proper circuit with safety switch protection, which is safer and stops the house tripping when a power tool starts.
On the waterfront in Como, Oyster Bay, Sylvania and Caringbah South, we're often asked for outdoor power for jetties, boat sheds and pontoons. These need weatherproof fittings and careful cable routes.
Warning signs
A power point that's warm, discoloured or makes a crackling sound needs attention straight away. Stop using it and call us.
Power Points FAQs
Can you run power to my backyard shed?
Yes. We'll run a dedicated, protected circuit, usually underground, with suitable outlets and a light.
Can I replace a power point myself?
Not in NSW. It's licensed electrical work.
Do you install 15 amp outlets for welders and big tools?
Yes, on a suitable circuit once we've checked the switchboard capacity.
