What's involved
- A capacity check of your switchboard and supply
- Single-phase chargers (typically up to 7 kW), or three-phase where available
- A dedicated circuit with the correct protection
- Load management, so the charger doesn't overload the house
- Notification to the network, where required
- Solar-aware charging options, if you have solar
Shire homes and solar
Plenty of Shire roofs already have solar. Many chargers can prioritise charging from excess solar during the day, and we can set that up if your charger and inverter support it.
Older switchboards in 1960s and 70s homes often need upgrading before a charger can go in. We'll tell you at the quote stage, not halfway through the job.
Units and townhouses
In townhouse complexes and apartment buildings around Cronulla, Miranda and Kirrawee, a charger in a shared car park usually needs owners corporation approval. We can give you a scope and quote for your strata committee.

EV Chargers FAQs
Can my charger use my solar?
Many can, depending on the charger and inverter. Tell us your models and we'll explain the options.
Do I need three-phase power?
No. A single-phase 7 kW charger suits most people. Three-phase helps if you already have it.
How long does installation take?
Most installs are done in half a day to a day, unless a switchboard upgrade is needed.
